I'm an earthy girl who is fascinated by nature and dragonflies. I love the smell of wood and earth, and brings that feeling into spaces.

ARTIST STATEMENT:

I love the dragonfly. Agile. Mysterious. Strong. Their glistening wings and fairy-like existence amazed me growing up. They existed in a place that I played growing up and spent much time in as an adult. The woods. The pond. The stream. I spent so much time in the woods and loved smelling nature, seeing animals move within it, and watching plants and trees grow like patchwork in a perfect quilt. It’s a peaceful place for me.

 

Serenity. Soulful. Safe. Secluded.

Moving to the city and not having my escape was hard. I felt something missing. That’s when I started working with wood and making things. Agh..the smell of it re-engergized me, and I figured out that I’m a quick learner with woodworking. I thought that since I can’t walk out the backyard and walk for hours in the woods, then I would at least make my home feel like I was in it. Bringing little things into my home from nature’s habitat. Alas...Dragonfly Woods was created.
