Do you remember the story of Peter Rabbit?
It's a tale that follows the mischievous and disobedient young Peter Rabbit as he is chased around the garden of Mr. McGregor. Peter Rabbit escapes and returns home to his mom, who puts him to bed after giving him tea.
This story was published in 1902.
I loved Peter Rabbit and the illustrations in the book. My mom always had books handy that I read growing up.
Peter Rabbit reminds me of the Easter bunny. Don't know why, but I think of that book and story every year.
I wanted to make Peter Rabbit for all of the little kids out there that perhaps didn't read the book and perhaps their parents could tell them the story. A dear friend of mine received this latest commissioned piece from me. She has a beautiful daughter who is seven years old and could read the story about Peter Rabbit.
Why not make reading fun? I'm so happy that my mom was (and still is) a reader. I remember how easy it is to be absorbed by a good book and imagine and vision all of the characters, places and things. What fun to strengthen one's imagination and grow creativity.
Helena, I hope your daughter enjoys the story and sees Peter Rabbit in her mind. Perhaps it will look like the one that she now has.
