Sometimes the most simplest things can put you in a different state of mind.
Did you ever just go into the woods, lay down on the ground, and look up at the sky? See all of the trees connect its' branches with each other and the leaves glistened while the sunlight poured it's energy into and through them? The different colors of green and different shapes of each leaf? It was fun just listening and hearing squirrels chase each other from tree to tree or hear a woodpecker pecking on a tree trunk. It's amazing what you hear when you just listen. The woods is a city. There is so much action going on in this other world.
This is what I see and imagine with each birch frame I make.
I made a headboard recently for a client's bedroom, and I decided to make one for myself because I liked it so much. I was laying in bed one night, and I looked up. It brought back the total nostalgia of what I love the most when I'm in the woods. It brought back that sense of actually being in the middle of the woods laying on the ground, looking up at the sky. Listening for the sounds that I miss.
This is exactly what I wanted people to feel when they purchased a customized art piece from me. I want them to feel the love of nature and the calmness that it projects. I want to have each art piece breathe some "woodsy magic" into a person's home or business space.
